Developer and contact
SpendToday is developed and operated by Alexander Kent, an individual developer responsible for this app and website.
support@spendtoday.co.ukThe information you enter
You may enter available cash, expected and received income, pay dates and frequency, bills, payments and refunds, savings held separately, recurring general savings, savings goals and transfers, spending, dates and optional descriptions. Goals may include names, symbols, targets, plans, deadlines and saved balances. Corrections, bill funding, savings protection and daily rollover also form part of the local budget history.
These records and your language, currency, appearance, widget and reminder preferences are processed locally to calculate estimates and remember your choices. A plan keeps money aside; it does not move money or obtain information from a bank. The app does not send your budget entries to the developer.
SpendToday Basic has no customer registration, bank connection, advertising, analytics SDK or third-party tracking library. It works offline for budgeting.
Local storage and device backups
The app saves its local financial document atomically using the operating system’s Complete file protection. Access depends on device security, passcode and lock state. SpendToday does not provide cloud sync, a remote budget database or a developer-run backup service.
iOS, Finder or iCloud device backups may contain application data depending on your device settings. Those backups are controlled by you and the relevant service. They are not a SpendToday developer server.
Manual export and import
If you export a backup, SpendToday warns that the file is unencrypted before you choose a destination. It can contain your complete budget, transaction details and preferences. Protect it as private financial information and avoid sharing it with people or services you do not trust.
Saving an export in iCloud Drive or another Files provider transfers that file to the chosen destination under its terms and your settings. Import reads a file you select and asks before replacing the local budget. The developer does not receive a copy of exports or imports.
Widgets and visible amounts
The app and its widget share a minimal, protected local allowance snapshot in an Apple App Group. It contains the allowance schedule, summary amounts when visible, currency, selected language and date boundaries needed for rollover and refreshes. It does not contain the full ledger, bill names or spending descriptions. The medium widget’s spending ring is calculated locally from that same snapshot.
New budgets show widget amounts after setup. You can conceal them in Settings. Existing saved preferences are preserved, and older budgets without a saved choice stay concealed. With concealment enabled, monetary fields in the shared snapshot are zeroed and the spending ring is hidden. Anyone who can see a visible widget may read its amounts. Widget refresh timing is controlled by iOS.
Optional reminders
Reminders are optional local notifications scheduled on your device. Permission is requested when you choose to enable them. Their text is generic and does not include bill names, amounts or balances. No developer push-notification server is used. Delivery depends on device notification settings.
Apple purchases
SpendToday Basic is purchased once as an App Store download with all manual budgeting features included. Apple handles payment and App Store account information under its policies. The app has no in-app purchase, subscription or entitlement check. The developer does not receive your card number or store payment details on a budget server.
Redownloads and purchase-refund requests depend on Apple services and your account. Deleting budget data does not cancel or refund a purchase. This website does not collect payments.
Deletion and your control
You can edit records, export a backup and delete all local budget data in Settings after confirmation. Archiving a savings goal retains savings and history and stops future contributions. Deleting a goal hides it while preserving internal transfer links needed for accurate accounting. Protected contributions stay aside until transferred or explicitly released; these actions do not erase the whole budget.
Delete all local data clears local budget history, the app’s widget summary and its scheduled reminders. It does not erase exported files, email attachments, support correspondence or external/device backups. Delete those copies separately where they are stored. Removing the app may remove local data; the developer cannot recover a lost local budget.
Support correspondence
If you contact the published support address, the support mailbox and its provider process the information you choose to send, such as your email address, message and attachments, so the developer can respond. This is separate from the app’s local budget storage. Your local budget is not automatically attached or sent.
Share only the information needed to explain the issue. Do not send bank credentials, Apple passwords, card details or a complete financial backup. Redact screenshots. Contact the published address with questions about support correspondence or applicable requests concerning information you have sent.
This website and hosting logs
Visiting this website sends a normal page request to its hosting provider. Serving and securing the site may involve IP addresses, request times, requested URLs, browser or device request information, and access or security logs. Website hosting is separate from the app; it does not receive your local budget through this plugin.
The SpendToday Website plugin adds no customer registration, budget uploads, analytics, advertising, tracking cookies, contact form, payment collection, marketing signup or third-party embedded content. Images and fonts are served locally. Ordinary support-email and App Store links open their respective services under those services’ terms.
WordPress administration may use essential authentication cookies for signed-in administrators. Hosting features and other installed plugins can affect website data handling; this policy must be reviewed when the site’s configuration changes.
Changes to this policy
This policy will be reviewed when the app’s or website’s data handling changes, and the published review date will be updated. The website, in-app policy and App Store privacy declarations should describe the released app and actual website configuration.
